Why Lost Gulch Overlook
Lost Gulch Overlook sits along Flagstaff Road above Boulder, with a wide view of the Continental Divide and far fewer people than the main Flagstaff summit. It is one of the best places near Boulder to catch alpenglow on the peaks without a long hike.
The Session
We worked along the rock outcroppings as the light shifted, taking our time and letting them just be together. The best couples photos almost always come from the quiet moments between poses.
Planning a Boulder Couples Session
Arrive an hour before sunset to give yourselves room to settle in. Sturdy shoes help, the rock at Lost Gulch is uneven. And dress in layers; the overlook sits above 7,000 feet and cools off fast once the sun drops.
